Eminent Dermatologist, Educationalist, and Research Scientist, Prof. Dr C. F. Shah, born in 1924, is the most senior and experienced SKIN SPECIAIST of India, practicing  in AHMEDABAD, for last 54 years, since 1951.

 He was a professor at both medical colleges of Ahmedabad, at Civil Hospital  (1951-1966) and V S Hospital (1966- 1983). As first Post Graduate. Teacher of Dermatology, he started  (M D skin) in Gujarat University. He is the pioneer of Dermatology in western India

Dr C .F. Shah is student of G S Medical College and K E M Hospital, Bombay, where he was a Gold Medallist in Surgery, and stood first in D V D.

Trained in the treatment of Skin and Venereal diseases in those days when no specific medicines, like sulfa, penicillin or antihistamines were still available, he has the advantage of being familiar with the pluses and minuses of the old and the new medicines. While recognizing the importance of new inventions, he believes that overuse and misuse of these wonderful medicines creates problems, and that they should be used judiciously.

As the available formulations are not always good enough for many Skin Diseases, Prof. Dr. Shah makes his own formulations like:-  A P Paint (Anti Pruritic Paint) for instant relief of itching, Fairness Cream, Herbal Shampoo, Hair Tonic, and Hair Cream, for dandruff and promoting  hair growth, Nail Solution, Acne Solution etc.

Also, he has devised innovative uses of  treatment methods, like chemical peel with Trichlor Acetic Acid and manual dermabrasion, for management of cosmetic problems like pimples, acne scars, residual lesions of Lichen Planus, etc. as well as darkening of face, under eyes darkening, under arms darkening to bring out the natural texture, color and beauty of skin.  Chehere ka nikhar aa jata hai. Compared to treatment with laser and other modern tools, this treatment is simple and affordable. 

Dr Shah has invented a herbal extract, which, on application promotes regeneration of damaged tissues and causes fast healing of wounds and ulcers. This is a path breaking invention, as no such medicine is found in allopathiy. Mayaderm Herbal  Ointment and Maya Mouth Gel  are made from this new medicine.

Mayaderm is an excellent ointment  for routine treatment of minor injuries  as well as serious non healing ulcers like leg ulcers, bed sores and burns, and many intractable skin conditions. Mayaderm also prevents formation of bed sores in vulnerable patients .

Maya Mouth Gel, is useful for conditions like mouth ulcers, sore mouth, foul smell, bleeding gums, painful tooth, tobacco irritation, ill fitting dentures, etc.

Dr Shah  is recipient of the Key Of Allentown, PA, USA presented to him in 1982, by the then Mayor, Mr. Joseph Daddona , in appreciation of his research activity; and Scroll of Honor from Academy of Ayurveda Development and Resarch.- AADAR..
